Quilter's Consortium of New York State meets in Webster, NY

Yesterday, March 18, the Quilter's Consortium of New York State held its first member meeting in Webster, New York.   The Webster Quilt Guild was our very gracious and generous host for the day.   It was a day of mixed weather - from sunny, blue skies to occasional "whiteouts", but everyone arrived safely and had a good time connecting with old friends and making new friends after being housebound from such a long cold and snowy winter!

Our first taste of the wonderful spirit of Webster was immediate as you entered the building and approached the check in table!

Of course the food table is always a big hit!   Morning Snacks after a long ride!

Once we are settled, it is time to be off shopping!
Laura Little brought lots of wonderful spring colors in her Superior Threads collection!

Barbara Miller of Mt. Pleasant Quilting Company and Julia Deal of Sew Artistic are informing shoppers of their products!

After that you can watch a demo - here Pamela Langdon is showing a couple of ladies her demo

And then there were the raffle quilts on display!   Everyone wants to be the winner and this is always a good venue for your guild to help sell tickets on their raffle quilt.

Caledonia Quilt Guild is raffling this beauty - the Poppy Quilt!   (Not sure if that is the official name).   Their show is in August, 2015 and they have created a show pin to match this quilt!

The Maple Leaf Quilt belongs to Twilight Stitchers

"Traveling Along the Towpath"!   Towpath Quilt Guild is raffling this quilt at their show on April 17 & 18, 2015 at the Manlius Village Center in Manlius, New York.

Piecemakers of Elmira Quilt Guild features this quilt at their show "Soaring With the Quilts" to be held in the airplane museum near Big Flats, NY - with quilts hanging among the airplane exhibits.   More info on this to come - but it sounds like a neat idea!

As you can see, a fun day was already underway - all of this activity happening before the meeting even began!   Nothing better than hanging out with friends, enjoying some good food and laughs, and viewing quilts!

QCNYS to Meet in Webster

March is always an "iffy" month to schedule statewide meetings.   However, in the tenure of my time with Consortium, we have only had to cancel one that I remember.  So, with that in mind, our next meeting is scheduled for March 18, in Webster, NY at the Webster Fireman's Exempt Building on Sanford Street in Webster.   The business meeting starts at 10:30 AM, but arrive early at 9:30 for the social hour to meet and catch up with old friends and new.  QCNYS Teacher Member Barb Miller, a Certified Instructor of the Judi Niemeyer technique will be our program presenter.    Val Schultz, QCNYS Vice President, will lead the March membership meeting and looks forward to telling everyone more about the 2015-16 QCNYS Quilt Challenge and the NY Beauty Raffle Quilt benefiting a Guild Scholarship.  (Don't forget to print the agenda before the meeting).  For more information you can visit our website at QCNYS.org which will also enable you to find the agenda to print for the meeting.

As blog editor, I will be taking some pictures at this meeting and hope to have lots of guild information to share with you along with those pictures.   Be sure to check back often.....this is only the beginning!!!!!  If you are a consortium member, please send me a link to your blog or website so I can hook that information here also.   Networking!!!!!
